Linen curtains are breathable, textured and great at softening harsh sunlight. They are durable, eco-friendly and gather less dust than many synthetic fabrics. On the downside, pure linen creases easily and can shrink in hot water. Unlined linen can also fade in strong UAE sun. It also does not block light fully. A good lining or a linen blend solves most of these issues.
Vacuum them every one to two weeks with a soft brush attachment. This removes dust and fine sand, which is common in Dubai homes. Steam gently to release creases instead of ironing them. Spot clean small marks with cold water and mild soap. Deep clean every 6 to 12 months, following the care label.
Unlined linen sheers do not give full privacy at night. When your lights are on, people outside may see shapes and movement. For full night privacy, choose lined or blackout-lined linen. You can also add a second curtain layer behind your sheers.
Yes, pure linen can shrink, especially in its first wash. Hot water and high-heat tumble drying cause the most shrinkage. Wash in cold or lukewarm water and air dry. Linen blends shrink much less than pure linen. On request, we use pre-washed linen to keep shrinkage low.
Not always. It depends on the room and what you want. Unlined linen is perfect for soft daylight in living and dining areas. Lining is best for bedrooms, sun-facing windows and rooms that need night privacy. It also protects linen from fading and helps the curtain hang better.
Yes, 100% linen curtains are made entirely from flax fibers. They have a natural slubbed texture and a relaxed, luxury look. Many curtains sold as linen are actually blends or linen-look polyester. Always check the fabric label or ask for the fiber content. At Mysofa, we clearly label every fabric type.
At Mysofa, linen curtains cost AED 85 to AED 120 per square meter. The price depends on fabric, lining, header style and window size. Tracks, rods and motors are quoted separately. Book a free measurement for an exact quote.
Yes. Linen is breathable and filters harsh sunlight well. With a thermal or blackout lining, it also reduces heat through the windows. This helps keep rooms cooler and supports your AC.
